WAYS TO HAVE A POSITIVE, PRODUCTIVE AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR
1. Plan what you want to achieve in the NEW YEAR.
2. Make small achievable goals. Remember you can only eat an elephant one bite at a time.
3. Get a weekly calendar and start scheduling what you have to do. Remember to schedule time for you.
4. Schedule time to be “healthy”.
• Start walking 10 minutes a day and build up to more
• Drink more water
• Plan healthy meals (check out www.whatsweighingyoudown.com for recipes)
• Stop smoking
5. Get Organized! Organize your home, yourself and your family. Life is so much easier when you are organized.
• Look at your expenses and see where you can cut back
• Eat out less/eat at home more
• Paying a little more to your charge cards
• Barter services with friends
• Take one room at a time and organize it
• Sell, or donate things you have not used in 3-5 years
• Schedule family appointments on a calendar for all to see
6. Save all the change you have at the end of the week and put it in a large jar. At the end of the year see how much money you have
7. Look for ways to save money/sacrifice SOMETHING
8. Have a family night each week.
9. Keep a journal of gratitude and write in it each day at least 5 things you are grateful for.
10. Once a month have a family planning meeting. Determine what MUST be done, and write it down and post it somewhere for all to see.
11. Keep a TO DO LIST….so important!

EMOTIONAL EATING
Emotional eating stems from trauma, self esteem issues, and anxiety to name a few. I believe it is memories both in the brain and body that stays with us until we are ready to let go and more forward. 80% of the people in this country are now dealing with emotional eating. When times are bad, people look for comfort, immediate gratification, and security. The easiest to turn to is FOOD. We are programmed by the media to see how much pleasure you can have from it. That is one of the reason our children are overweight. They too are becoming emotional eaters.
Yes, you can eat healthy but as she said “she wasn’t addressing the emotional issues”! I once weighed over 425lbs. I lost 168 lbs but it is hard to move forward if you don’t address the reasons why you are eating. I am still doing my issues and moving forward. Your body holds on to the weight until you let go of the emotions attached to eating. That is way I am so pro active in wanting to help others to know that there is help and that they are not alone.
It hasn’t been easy but to me it is truly worth doing the work to find the real me.
